About LarkDC

Audrey Cooling | Principal

With two decades of managing high-stakes corporate communications and advocacy campaigns under my belt – both in-house and in agencies, I try to be the type of consultant I valued most as a client: an integral thought partner and extension of the team.

At LarkDC, I am able to tap into my diverse network of professional contacts to help clients design and execute communications strategies that are customized to fit their specific needs.

Prior to starting LarkDC, I spent five years as an Executive Vice President at Lot Sixteen, a bipartisan public affairs firm based in DC, where I still serve as a senior advisor. I helped manage a team of more than 20 communications professionals and grow the firm, advising clients across a wide range of sectors – from leaders in energy and technology, to media and entertainment. We navigated everything from corporate rebrandings, restructurings, litigation and labor negotiations to advocacy around emerging issues like electricity market reform and artificial intelligence. Drawing upon my extensive experience managing coalitions and complex litigation communications, I often served as an on-the-record spokesperson for our clients in national media.‍

Previously, I served as 21st Century Fox’s vice president of public affairs. Based in DC, I worked to advance the company’s legislative and policy priorities, promoting creative content and talent from brands like FX, 20th Century Fox and National Geographic among political influencers across the globe. I also spent more than a decade at The Glover Park Group (now FGS Global), where I managed some of the firm’s largest integrated accounts. Working alongside their executive leadership teams, lobbyists and legal counsel, I helped top brands in the media, healthcare, technology and retail sectors boost their corporate reputation in Washington, win approval for corporate mergers, build advocacy coalitions and respond to crises that were critical to their business operations.

‍Early in my career, I was a reporting assistant in the DC bureau of The Wall Street Journal and also a presidential campaign press secretary.

I’m a native of Savannah, GA and a graduate of the University of Georgia. But my Southern accent has (mostly) faded after years of living in Washington, DC with my husband, David, and our three young daughters.
